Newton is the health economist for the NIHR-HRC-DDR. Newton joined the team as of April 2025 and his work includes undertaking early-stage health economics modelling to inform the value proposition of emerging health technologies. He also contributes to supply-side and technology-based evaluations as well as methodological research.
Newton holds a BSc in Statistics and Computing, an MSc in Health Economics and is currently completing a health economics PhD. He previously worked within non-profit organisations such as the Clinton Health Access Initiative across Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, and with Malawi’s National AIDS Commission. His expertise includes program management, undertaking systematic reviews and evidence synthesis, health economics modelling, statistical and econometric data analysis, as well as policy evaluation.
