 Translation Research Symposium

The team recently attended the University of Birmingham research translation symposium on Friday 11th July. The symposium aimed to highlight the breadth and impact of translational research at the University of Birmingham and how it could be developed into new medical techniques or technologies.

It served as a valuable platform for academics, clinicians, and professional services both from the University and its NHS partners, to connect, share insights, and to foster a stronger translational research culture.

Key events included oral presentations by selected translational researchers, poster sessions, and practical workshops emphasising how and when to engage the translation research team to overcome common barriers.

A particular highlight for the team was presentations navigating the complex regulatory landscape in product development and device commercialisation. It was an insightful opportunity and demonstrated to innovators the digital tools available to support and navigate the medical device regulation landscape.

The team thoroughly enjoyed the event and look forward to establishing future collaborations moving forwards. We look forward to attending the event next year.
